“It began with the watching of a great movie. And the name is called The Silk Road Legend.”

In a close-up interview with AYERMOSI’s brand founder, Artemis tells us how she began her journey as an artisan.
“It tells a tale of a little girl and her grandfather embarked on a journey from the capital of China in the time of the Tang Empire (A.D.618-907). As they traveled along the ancient Silk Road, they had wonderful magical encounters and made great friendship with people from different race, culture, and countries.
So fascinated by the exotic movie settings and colorful costumes, I was utterly besotted by one particular piece of dazzling jewelry worn on the raven hair of the beautiful lake fairy from the movie. When I asked my parents where I could buy this kind of jewelry, they told me it was not possible as it was just one of the movie props and not for sale. As sad as I could be, my spirit however refused to give up. Why! At that moment, I had decided to make my own! With much brain work and effort, my very first piece of “jewelry” – a strand of bobby pins hooked with each other and with a red glass bead dangling at the bottom by a thread made its debut. I put it in my hair, looked in the mirror, and smiled with confidence. I was seven then.
That little affair of “jewelry making” of mine had led the way to the world of handicrafts. So while I tinkered with small parts of my mother’s accessories, I started to train for traditional Chinese painting at the age of ten. By the time I finished my academic study in Singapore, I had also completed a course in light jewelry making run by a community hobby group.
And in 2019, I have won my very first National Design Patent certificate awarded by China National Intellectual Property Administration, with more to come in my application pipeline.
